At Engage Global Health (EGH), our mission is to create lasting, positive changes in global health by working with communities to overcome health disparities and improve access to quality care. Our impact is measured not just by the services we provide but by the transformative, sustainable solutions we help build in the communities we serve. We are committed to empowering individuals, enhancing healthcare systems, and ensuring that every person—regardless of their background or location—has the opportunity to live a healthier life.
We believe in data-driven results, using continuous monitoring and evaluation to track progress, identify challenges, and measure the success of our programs. Our approach focuses on building sustainable health systems, improving health literacy, and fostering community-driven solutions. We continuously assess the effectiveness of our programs and strive to adjust and refine strategies to ensure lasting change.
Over the years, our work has had a measurable impact on communities across Canada and East Africa, with several key areas where we have made significant contributions:
Through our various programs, including health literacy campaigns, cancer screening initiatives, and addiction prevention efforts, we have reached thousands of underserved individuals in both rural and urban settings. By empowering communities with knowledge and access to healthcare services, we have helped reduce preventable diseases and improved overall health outcomes.
Our capacity-building initiatives have supported healthcare providers and organizations by enhancing their ability to deliver high-quality care. By focusing on training, resource management, and effective program implementation, we help health systems become more efficient, resilient, and responsive to community needs.
We recognize the critical importance of mental health in overall well-being. Our mental health programs focus on stress management, depression awareness, suicide prevention, and family violence awareness. These programs have helped reduce stigma, encouraged open conversations about mental health, and provided support for those struggling with mental health challenges.
Collaboration with other healthcare providers, social services organizations, and local governments has been a key factor in our success. By fostering mutually beneficial partnerships, we extend our reach, share resources, and deliver more comprehensive services to the communities that need them most.
Our health literacy programs have empowered individuals to make informed decisions about their health, which leads to healthier lifestyle choices and greater access to medical services. By providing educational materials, training sessions, and workshops, we help people understand their health needs and navigate the healthcare system effectively.
In Uganda, Engage Global Health worked alongside the Amani Family Centre to improve maternal and child health. Our programs provided education on prenatal care, hygiene, and early childhood development, significantly improving health outcomes for mothers and children.
Result: Maternal mortality rates in the community decreased by 25%, and infant mortality rates dropped by 20% in the areas where our programs were implemented.
In partnership with Montana First Nation and Tallcree Tribal Nation, we delivered health literacy programs and addiction prevention workshops that helped educate community members on the risks of substance use and provided tools for healthier living.
Result: These communities reported a 35% reduction in smoking rates and increased engagement in health programs, empowering residents to make healthier lifestyle choices.
Our success would not be possible without the support and collaboration of our dedicated partners—local healthcare providers, governments, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders. Together, we are building healthier futures and ensuring that every individual has access to the care they deserve.
By combining our expertise, resources, and passion for public health, we continue to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals and communities across the globe.
