The organization engages an approach that combines psycho-social support and livelihood skills transfer to reduce the economic vulnerability of these groups of youth.Mirembe Community College is a learning institution in Kampala Uganda that provides vocational training to young vulnerable people who experience significant social determinants of health including domestic violence, loss of parents and families, unwanted pregnancies and early marriages and drugs and alcohol. Many of these young people are street children, former sex workers, teen mothers and children, and youth living with disabilities.
Mirembe College provides several courses including hairdressing and cosmetology, shoe making, tailoring and fashion design, carpentry and joinery, baking and cooking, sweater making, and many others. The organization engages an approach that combines psycho-social support and livelihood skills transfer to reduce the economic vulnerability of these groups of youth. The College aims to empower these young people by encouraging and supporting them to use their talents and skills to further better their lives and health.
